The public hearings on the proposed changes to the Federal Rules are finally underway. These rules attempt to make processing the huge volumes of electronic discovery a more manageable process. The firm of Preston Gates Ellis LLP has posted a Report from the First Public Hearing on Proposed Changes to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure Addressing E-Discovery : Electronic Discovery Law. There are two more public hearings, one in Dallas in late January, and one in Washington, DC, in February. I'll keep you posted.
